Message Center
Message Center is a small program made solely for the purpose of displaying messages due to Windows 10 toast notification requirements. In addition to displaying messages, Message Center allows per-user configuration of messages appearance and lists currently active toast notifications. Message Center is an integral part of Advanced Task Scheduler software version 9.0 and later.
A toast notifications provide simple feedback about an operation in a small popup. It only fills the amount of space required for the message and the current activity remains visible and interactive. Toasts automatically disappear after a timeout and stay in the Action Center until the expiration period ends. However, the Action Center is only able to keep up to 20 most recent toast messages. Toasts behave as configured in the Action Center and in the settings of this Message Center program. Toast notifications only supported in Windows 10 and later.
Settings
Message appearance
Toast notification - Toast notification will be displayed. This option is only available in Windows 10 and later.
Popup message window - Popup window will be displayed with the message text.
Transparent window near Task Bar - Transparent window will be displayed near your task bar. This option is only available in Windows 2000, XP and later.
Balloon message near Task Bar - Standard balloon will be displayed near your task bar. You can close it by clicking anywhere on the balloon area by left mouse button. Note that balloon will disappear after some time of inactivity. This option is only available in Windows XP and later. Since Windows 10 balloon notification is the same as toast notification.
Message title
Title of the message to be displayed.
Sound file
When message appears, this sound will be played.
Background image
You can specify a default background image for the popup window.
Show popup window always on top
When this option is enabled, the popup message will appear on the top of other windows.
Toast image
An image that will be displayed on the toast.
Expiration
Toast will be automatically removed from the Action Center when this expiration period ends.
Scenario
Default - The normal toast behavior.
Alarm - An alarm notification. This will be displayed pre-expanded and stay on the user's screen till dismissed. Audio will loop by default and will use alarm audio.
IncomingCall - An incoming call notification. This will be displayed pre-expanded in a special call format and stay on the user's screen till dismissed. Audio will loop by default and will use ringtone audio.
Reminder - A reminder notification. This will be displayed pre-expanded and stay on the user's screen till dismissed.
Duration
Default - The default toast duration.
Short - The toast will be displayed for a short time.
Long - The toast will be displayed for a long time.
Audio option
Default - The default sound behavior.
Silent - Mute the sound.
Loop - Repeat the sound as long as the Toast is shown.
Show Message Center when toast clicked
When this option is enabled, the Message Center will appear when user clicks on the toast.
